When a neurologic injury occurs there is always some concern for the client’s ability to return to driving or in some instances how the client will not be able to return to driving immediately or perhaps forever. This presentation will review the many deficits that can impair driving skills, review the training opportunities to improve driving skills as well as inform what options are available for transportation for those individuals who can no longer drive themselves.

By the conclusion of this webinar participants should be able to:

  1. Understand at least three deficit related concerns to driving after neurologic injury or insult.
  2. Know the rules for return to driving or reporting of drivers with neurologic injury/insult history in your state.
  3. Know best practices for assessing and training individuals to return to driving
  4. Name alternatives to driving to allow clients and their families to access care and rehabilitation services while not able to drive.
