The vestibular system is a sensory system responsible for our sense of equilibrium, spatial orientation and motion detection. Disruption of the system can impact balance, vision and lead to dizziness and other functional deficits. An understanding of vestibular dysfunction and the impact rehabilitation can have on one’s recovery can guide health care professionals in clinical decision making and ultimately improve one’s quality of life.
